SARS-CoV-2 Infections in Animals

Background

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and opensource data sharing have been integral to the public health response to the Covid-19 pandemic in the human population. Disease monitoring in animals deserves the same level of rigor and attention. This project entails the prototype workflow to combine data from U.S. cases in animals with a twitter feed and relevant journal articles. The data was refined and transformed within FME Workbench and then loaded onto ArcGIS Online to be displayed on a dashboard web application.

Data Sources

Twitter, Elsevier, Scopus, USDA and the OIE World Animal Health Information System.
